Marina Green, PhD, LPC, NCC

Founder & Clinical Director

Specialty Areas: Anxiety, Self-Esteem, & Relationship Stress

Hi! I’m Marina,

I’m a Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), as well as the Founder and Clinical Director of A Quiet Place Counseling. Counseling is my passion, and I consider myself very blessed to be a part of such a meaningful, rewarding profession.

Having an innate interest in the human mind, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University. I, then, continued on to pursue my PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from Auburn University to learn how to best serve and train emerging counselors, as well as develop new skills to support and foster the wellness of mental health professionals. I’m passionate about this profession because it provides me with the platform to love and empower others, as I feel led to do. It has given me the opportunity to support hundreds of people through some of their largest obstacles.

Perhaps my favorite part of therapy is helping my clients find hope in their situation, and helping them discover and embrace their self-worth. I’m collaborative and relational in my approach to counseling, and I believe that much of our psychological distress comes from a) under-valuing or under-respecting ourselves, b) not believing in our ability to cope and manage stressors that come our way, and c) a lacking in true, authentic connection with others. Therefore, it is my job and privilege to help people recognize and embrace their unique strengths and abilities, and explore ways to navigate this life with greater peace, confidence, connection, and grace in spite of imperfection.

Fun Facts

I grew up in a military family and I’ve moved over 15 times in my life. I’m married to a wonderful man who provides me with endless support. I enjoy reading, dancing, journaling, and coffee shops with character. Also, I love deep conversations, hoodies, and extreme moose tracks ice cream.

WHO? Men ages 18-25

WHAT? Emerging adulthood is full of change, uncertainty, and identity exploration. For many, all of this happening at once can lead to stress about the future, difficulty making decisions, and self-confidence issues, particularly as they relate to education and career. Oftentimes, men feel obligated to be strong and capable, which can lead to an overwhelming sense of pressure to succeed. We created this career coaching group for young men who may have professional goals in mind, but are wanting to build empowerment to confidently pursue their goals. Over the span of 8 weeks, we will:

1) Learn strategies for setting meaningful goals that will positively impact daily decisions.

2) Develop skills for building self-efficacy, emotional regulation, and proactive stress management to enhance performance.

3) Build knowledge and tangible professional skills to maximize career success.

If this sounds familiar, we would love for you to join us over the span of 8 weeks as we:

1) Create a non-judgmental space to process through the challenges of healing from disordered eating and negative body image.

2) Confront internal and external messages that perpetuate unrealistic body standards.
