Licensed Professional Counselor

Specialty Areas: Relationship Stress, Life Direction, Faith-Based Counseling

Hi! I’m Kate,

I’m a Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (dual-licensed in Alabama and Georgia). My hope as a counselor is to establish an environment where people feel safe to share and process their unique story so they feel seen and heard.

I enjoy working with teenagers, adults, couples and families who are longing for healthier relationships with themselves and others. Prior to clinical counseling, I worked in campus ministry, volunteer management and community and leadership development; therefore, I bring a variety of different experiences into the counseling room. I have training in Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I use a variety of approaches based on the client’s needs, but attachment and family systems play a large role in the work that I do. I view therapy as a collaborative and highly relational process, and my hope is that you will walk away from the counseling room feeling lighter, knowing you don’t have to carry your burdens alone.

Fun Facts:

I’m an Auburn alumna. War eagle! I studied Hotel and Restaurant Management for my undergraduate degree before I transitioned to helping professions. I still love cooking and traveling! I moved around to North Carolina, New York and Georgia before returning to Alabama after 15 years away. I’m married with one daughter and two step kids. Cooking competition shows, Gilmore Girls and Nancy Meyers movies are what I like to watch when I need a good comfort watch. I also love listening to podcasts when I have the time. Armchair Expert is my favorite!
